Irresponsible roof maintenance led to major damage to my contents . The damage occurred in April 2016.

The management claims to have contacted us by telephone but that never, ever happened. Said they left a voice message :) ... how convenient? There was no voice message EVER.

We receive emails from them every month to remind us about our account status. In other words ... payment reminder. Oh but now that I have vacated the one damaged unit, I no longer get the courtesy email.

Have filed notice with Better Business in the home state of New York ; big surprise; Life Storage Paralegal agent lied and claimed that we were notified. It never happened. I had to face mold, health risk in order to clean out the damaged LPs that were affected and move the contents to my other storage unit at the same location. The wooden racks weighing in excess of 400 lbs were salvaged by another record store in the Houston area because I could not just move them anywhere and once the water damage was revealed, no one wanted to buy them.

I still do not know if the mold removal work was ever completed in my old unit #661. So I feel sorry for any of the tenants along that wall.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.
